Our accommodation

El Aguila Libre is a large Spanish cortijo of two hundred years old, built according to the traditions in this part of Andalusia. Whitewashed stone walls that sometimes are a meter thick. Red roofing-tiles braided into a waterproof cartridge. Small wooden windows with shutters to keep the heat outside in summer and the cold in the winter. A large barn door with behind it a path of small pebbles for the stay of donkeys and horses.

Horses and donkeys are no longer in El Aguila Libre. The old path with the small pebbles is now part of the floor in the front room. The barn door is still there. Windows, shutters, tiles, floor beams, they are all still there, original in style or replaced. El Aguila Libre still breathes the same atmosphere as two hundred years ago, when in the building Venta San Juan was located. This place was often visited by El Tempranillo, the famous bandit from this region.

El Aguila Libre currently has four guest rooms, each with its own style. But they also have much in common. All rooms breathe the warm atmosphere of our authentic inn, they are fully equipped to modern comfort and of course they have all that unforgettable views of the Pyrenees of the south.
